PCMAV 1.93
Telah terbit majalah PC Media edisi 03/2009 yang disertai bonus bootable DVD instalasi Windows 7 Beta Build 7000 Ultimate Edition. Bersamaan dengan itu, rilis terbaru PC Media Antivirus kembali diluncurkan. Pada rilis kali ini, PCMAV 1.93 mampu mengenali dan mengatasi 2560 virus beserta variannya yang banyak dilaporkan menyebar luas di Indonesia. Beberapa perubahan yang telah dilakukan di rilis ini diantaranya adalah adanya penambahan engine cleaner khusus untuk virus Autoit yang dikenal dapat memanfaatkan Yahoo! Messenger sebagai media penyerangannya. Selain itu, ada juga engine cleaner khusus untuk virus Recycler beserta variannya yang dapat melakukan code injection.

*** Antivirus Kernel
New version of avast! antivirus kernel features outstanding detection abilities, together with high performance. *** Simple User Interface

*** Enhanced User Interface
Unlike the Simple User Interface, the scanning is performed by so called "tasks". *** Resident protection
Resident protection, i.e. the real-time protection of the computer, is one of the most important parts of an antivirus program today. avast! features a powerful resident module that is able to detect the virus before it has any chance to infect your computer.
E-mail protection consists of two independent modules; first, there is a generic scanner working on the SMTP/POP3/IMAP4 protocol level. *** Virus Chest
The main properties of the Virus Chest are complete isolation from the rest of the operating system (no outside process, i.e. no virus either, may access the files inside) and the fact that the files inside the Chest may not be run (i.e. there is no danger in storing viruses there).
*** System integration
avast! antivirus features outstanding integration into your system. The scanning can be started directly from Windows Explorer, by clicking a folder or a file with your right mouse button and selecting the corresponding choice from the menu.
Another interesting feature is a special screen-saver that performs scanning for viruses during its run-time. avast! antivirus works together with your favorite screen-saver, so you don't have to change to anything you wouldn't like.
Another new option is the boot-time scan (Windows NT/2000/XP/.NET only). It is important in the case that a virus is suspected to be active on your computer. The boot-time scan is performed before the virus may get activated, so the virus cannot influence the scanning in any way.
*** Command-line scanner
Experienced users may like another Professional Edition feature - command-line scanner. The scanning can be controlled by many arguments and switches; to use as a pipe filter, a special STDIN/STDOUT mode is available.
The module is intended to be used in BATCH programs. Its output is the same as the output from the Enhanced User Interface tasks (including the report files).

Tips Update Offline Kaspersky versi 8.0
Kaspersky merupakan salah satu Antivirus yang cukup populer, yang saat ini sudah tersedia Versi 2009 ( kaspersky 8.0 ), baik Antivirus maupun Internet Security. Tidak seperti Kaspersky versi sebelumnya ( 6.0 dan 7.0 ) yang sudah menyediakan link download update langsung, versi 2009 belum menyedikannya.
Produk Kaspersky 2009 ( baik Antivirus 2009, Internet Security 2009 dan lainnya), update dilakukan secara online (memerlukan koneksi Internet langsung). Tetapi ada tips agar kita bisa melakukan update offline, dan hanya download update yang diperlukan saja.
Kaspersky Update Utility
Kaspersky sendiri sebenarnya sudah menyediakan tools khusus untuk melakukan update produknya, namanya Kaspersky Updater. Tools ini bisa digunakan gratis untuk download
update semua produknya mulai Home sampai Corporate Edition.
Meskipun awalnya Tool updater ini berbasis command line, saat ini sudah ada versi GUI (graphical user Interface), dalam tampilan window, sehingga lebih memudahkan penggunaanya. Silahkan buka Link Kaspersky Update Utility untuk Download Updatenya

Silahkan download dua file diatas, GUI of Update utility dan version for Windows. Setelah selesai, buka file zip keduanya dan jadikan dalam satu folder. Selanjutnya jalankan file KasperskyUpdater.exe, untuk download update sesuai dengan versi yang bisa dipilih, seperti tampilan berikut.
Jika sudah dipilih versi yang sesuai, klik saja Apply kemudian Start untuk memulai proses update, maka akan tampil proses update kaspersky, dan tunggu sampai selesai. Jika ini update pertama kali, kemungkinan akan berlangsung lama, karena ukurannya cukup besar, bisa mencapai 30 MB. Tetapi update berikutnya harusnya berlangsung cepat, karena hanya download update terbarunya saja.
Bagaimana Proses Updatenya ?
Ketika menjalankan updater ini, maka akan terdapat dua buah folder Temp dan Updates di bawah folder yang berisi file KasperskyUpdater.exe tersebut. Folder Temp berisi file-file update sementara dan untuk sepertinya juga untuk membandingkan dengan update yang ada di server Kaspersky. Sedangkan folder Updates berisi File-file update yang sudah siap digunakan untuk meng-update kaspersky
Jika proses download update sudah selesai, kita tinggal mengatur setting di Kaspersky agar proses update tidak dilakukan online, tetapi dari folder Updates diatas. Caranya sebagai berikut :
1. Klik kanan Icon Kaspersky yang ada di systray windows ( pojok kanan bawah),pilih menu Settings
2. Pilih menu Update dan klik Settings…
3. Klik menu + Add dan cari lokasi folder yang berisi file-file update diatas ( folder Updates hasil download diatas)
4. setelah ditambahkan, hilangkan tanda check untuk “Kaspersky Lab’s Update server” dan klik OK.
5. Proses selesai, untuk mengupdate, tinggal klik kanan icon Kaspersky dan pilih menu Update. Atau dari menu Utama, pilih Update dan klik Start Update
Jika kita ingin mengambil update di warnet atau komputer lain, jangan lupa menyertakan file-file di folder Temp (dan folder ini jangan dihapus), sehingga proses update bisa berjalan cepat. Untuk folder Updates, seharusnya juga bisa digunakan untuk mengupdate Kaspersky di Komputer lainnya.
